Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and organise feed for cultured or held stock
- Confirm feeding schedule and instructions with supervisor
- Check feed types, quantities and sizes against feeding schedule
- Check received feed quality and specifications against labels and delivery documentation as required
- Select feeding equipment and/or automated feeding technology, check for serviceability and consider the need for personal protective equipment
- Monitor and optimise feed uptake
- Finalise and review feeding operations
- Check cleaning of work area and disposal of waste materials are completed according to workplace procedures
- Check condition, maintenance requirements and storage of equipment
- Store feed in a manner that minimises degradation or contamination
- Record relevant data and observations, and report any abnormal records to supervisor
